“There are a dozen policemen down there. They can handle these two better than I can,” you think to yourself and sprint down the street, arms waving. You get to within fifty yards from agent Jones when a police officer stops you.
”You can’t go any further!” he commands.
“I urgently need to speak to that man!” you shout excitedly at the police officer, pointing at agent Jones. Agent Jones is standing next to two senior policemen, his full attention fixed on the house under siege.
“Hold on!” the police officer says and quickly speaks into his radio.
Agent Jones looks in your direction and hurriedly walk over to where you are standing.
“What? I’m busy,” he simply says.
“The men, they escaped from a few houses up. They went that way.” You point in the direction the men went. “I can’t see them anymore.”
Agent Jones shouts something over his radio. Two police officers exit the house and run up the street. “Follow us!” Agent Jones commands you.
The four of you run up the street. You get to the intersection and look both ways. There is no sign of the men. The data is lost. You cannot but wonder if you should not have stopped the men yourself.
