“Sure thing agent Jones!” you give the agent all the information, feeling that it is your patriotic duty. Within thirty minutes a black van pulls up close to where you are standing. Agent Jones comes over to introduces himself. “The men are in that house, over there,” you point to the house where the men are hiding.
“We must get that data before they hand it over to their authorities,” his voice betrays his determination. His eyes are hidden behind large sunglasses, showing your reflection clearly. “In that van is a dozen armed police officers. We are expecting little resistance but you can never be too careful. Better make yourself scarce,”
That’s the best advice you’ve received all day. You decide that the best place to watch the spectacle is from as far away as possible. The end of the street strikes you as having the best vantage point while being well out of any immediate danger.
You wait for a few minutes. The vans containing the soldiers drive slowly until it is at the front door of the house. Police pile out, weapons in front of them. They walk in tight formation, three men to a line behind a ballistic shield. Two other police officers run towards the door and use heavy rams to bust the front door open. Mayhem breaks loose. The police officers throw in stun grenades and you can feel, rather than hear the concussions as they explode in the house. Car alarms announce that they are aware of the commotion as well.
Police stream through the door, white smoke billowing above their heads. Four houses down, you see the two men you have been following exit a terraced. Each has a bag slung over a shoulder. They walk in your general direction, calm but quick.
“The houses must be connected,” you think to yourself. You are too far from the soldiers for them to hear or see you. Agent Jones called you from an unlisted number, so you cannot phone him either.
