“Beat the light!” you shout.
The driver steps on the accelerator and speeds into the intersection, against the red light. You think you are going to make it, but as you enter the last lane, a big red truck bears down on you, not able to stop. He clips the rear of your car and sends you into a terrifying spin. You are thrown into the door, hitting your head on the window and black out instantly.
The moment you wake up, you know you are in hospital and that you have been there for quite a while. The professor is standing at the foot of your bed, his arm in a sling. His granddaughter is standing next to him.
Both of them looks very concerned.
“I was lucky that I was sitting between you and the professor and was protected from most of the effects of the accident” says Emily.
“My life’s work is gone!” the professor says. “After the accident, when we were all dazed and could not move, the foreign agents came to the car, searched you and took the memory stick”.
You realise that you need a lot more sleep, especially after the bad news. The professor’s work that might have saved the planet is now in the hands of a foreign power and you are not sure that they will use the solution for the benefit for humanity, rather than use it for more weapons.
The end.
